Today I can’t remember.
I can’t remember what I got you for your birthday.
I can’t remember the last word you said to me.
I can’t remember the last game we played,
Book we read,
Laugh we shared,
Moment you cried.
I can’t remember the last time I told you I love you.
I can’t remember how old you are, but I know you’re old (haha)
I can’t remember your favourite band, but I know songs that remind me of you.
I can’t remember the last time I cried over you, but when I do I feel you wash over me.
I can’t remember your perfect image, but I can remember a perfect image of you.
I can remember your smile
And your laugh… (sometimes I imagine it when I’m lonely and need comfort).
I can remember how loving, kind and generous you were to everyone in your life.
I can’t remember the last time I told you I love you, but now I say it everyday to make up for lost time, and lost memories.
I love you.
